We all are aware of the importance of healthy dietary/lifestyle choices as it pertains to preventing disease and improving our bodies aesthetically. Do you know that we all could improve the health of our bodies, minds and spirit by proactively drawing from a FREE reservoir of healing and hope? This gift that is freely available to us all does not require any strict diet regimen nor blood, sweat and tears from challenging exercise sessions. That said, we still must recognize their benefits and be intentional to change behaviors or habits to reap the rewards.
What I am alluding to is how we can all tap into this reservoir of healing neurochemicals that are contained in our brains, which is freely supplied to us from God the creator of all things. Proverbs 16:4 states, “The Lord has made everything for its purpose.” So, knowing this truth, let us look at some strategies that we all can deploy to release these specific neurochemicals that can bring hope and healing to our bodies and minds.
Walking, deep breathing/meditation, music, praise and gratitude are just a short list of disciplines that we can all incorporate into our day to day lives, which release a myriad of neurochemicals such as L dopamine, serotonin, endorphins and nor adrenaline. Synergistically, these specific elements contained in the brain host healing properties for our minds, bodies and overall spiritual health.
For example, the Holy Bible, references how the very act of worshipping/singing can trigger the release of serotonin that plays a role in mood regulation and helps foster feelings of happiness and stability. Isaiah 61:3 “the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” One can see, the book of life provides a sound strategy for overcoming a heavy or depressive mood.
Furthermore, how we choose to think and speak has huge implications on our emotions which can either impact on us negatively or positively.” Being mindful of changing our inner/outward thoughts can inevitably determine the outcomes we experience in life.
The book of life, the Holy Bible, gave us this truth over two thousand years ago that contains many written scriptures for us to abide in to bring victory, hope and healing. One of my favorite scriptures of this truth is reference in Proverbs 18:21, “life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” We can bring hope or despair by what we choose to think or meditate on.
Take inventory today of your choices and truly reflect on how you can implement some of these proven strategies to draw on to positively reflect wellness in your minds, bodies and spirits.
Bless You All!!!
